Screening Assessments - Dyslexia or Dyscalculia

A dyslexia screening assessment usually takes about two hours. The diagnostic assessment tests cognitive ability, literacy skills, memory, and processing speed. The results include a 'dyslexia index' that shows how closely the results match a dyslexic profile, along with a summary of individual strengths and weaknesses. For more information on screening for a Specific Learning Disorder (SLD),please refer to this link.

A dyscalculia screening assessment also takes about two hours. The diagnostic assessment measures non-verbal reasoning ability, short-term working memory, and includes various tests to determine the likelihood of dyscalculia.

The KeyMaths-3 assessment - on its own - is not designed to diagnose dyscalculia. Instead, it measures maths skills in three main areas: basic concepts, calculations, and applied maths. The score analysis report highlights gaps in mathematical knowledge that can be addressed by a school or tutor. Assessments usually take about three hours.
